El paraíso bajo mi talón

This work was made during an Erasmus exchange with the Faculty of Fine Arts / University of Basque Country in 2015.  The requirement was to create a functional object by using an anatomical detail. My proposal was to employ the cast of my heel to obtain an object one could eat with, because of the taboo associations between mouth and foot. But I am furthermore suggesting frailty and sensitivity, by calling for a modern interpretation of the reference to the Achilles’ heel. The “spoon’s” cavity can also be used as a makeshift container to grow food. The miniature size of the agricultural endeavor speaks of the notion of food scarcity in the context of today’s ecological problems
